18th Annual Great Backyard Bird Count

This annual event is hosted by The Louisville Audubon Society and Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve. Beginning to advanced bird watchers (of all ages) are invited to attend this fun birding event at Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve. If you’ve always wanted to learn about our feathered friends, you are invited to join us. Birders from across the nation will be tracking bird populations, and we are doing our part, as we have for 18 years and counting.
We will meet inside the Nature Center before heading out on a walk led by birding experts (and phenomenal photographers), Lee Payne, Jr. and Brandon McQueen. With their guidance, you will learn to identify and count birds. Later, our sightings will be reported to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. This is citizen science at its best!
Hot chocolate and other beverages will be available inside the Nature Center, along with free crafts for kids.
