Wild Pollinators 101: Backyard Bees, Butterflies & More

Ever wondered about the lives of the pollinators in your garden? How to attract certain pollinators? How to identify our local butterflies and bees?

WILD POLLINATORS 101 is an educational presentation brought to you by Idlewild Butterfly Farm and returning guest speaker Aaron Sexton, PhD candidate out of the University of Louisville.

Students will learn:

The importance of insect pollinators, those tiny but mighty creatures responsible for three-fourth of the world’s flowering plants. Simply put, our gardens wouldn’t exist without them!
Identification of common insect pollinators in our area, including bees, butterflies, beetles, and more!
Beyond the Honey Bee: meet the unsung heroes of the bee community, such as mason bees, leafcutter bees, and many others!
Beyond the Monarch Butterfly: how to identify and support native butterflies of all kinds.
How to attract and support insect pollinators in your garden.

Attendance is $20 per person. Light refreshments will be provided.

Seats are limited and pre-payment is required; please reserve your spot in the workshop by purchasing a ticket online!
